Fun and friendship above football skill – Since the beginning!
In January 2015, Martin Kromdijk started Gay Soccer Amsterdam by sending out a call for like-minded people to start playing recreational football (soccer) once a week. His plan was clear: to find others to play small 4v4 or 5v5 friendly matches with on a regular basis.
Through social media, the first interested players got in touch, and in March 12 of 2015, an official “Kickoff” was held at Cafe Prik in Amsterdam. This is the date of our establishment, and we’ve been playing ever since.
Since June 2015, our home has been a walled outdoor football pitch at the Olympiaplein sport park. It’s our own little slice of artificial grass heaven, and rain or shine, we play 5v5 matches there every Monday evening.
Fun and comradery comes first, and when weather permits, we have post-match biertjes at sport park clubhouse. Gay Soccer Amsterdam welcomes players young and old to join us!
